Velvet is a very hot commodity this season. So are white booties/boots apparently. When trying to decide which trend train I wanted to jump on, this was an easy decision – you’ll likely NEVER see me in white boots of any kind. I just can’t get down with that in my closet. I’ve seen some gorgeous styles on Instagram, and more power to them, but it’s just not my gig.
But velvet?! Let’s talk…..lol
This outfit is basically 90% velvet. The rest of it is leather accents, military touches, and 100% pure woman power.
I tend to wear a lot of outfits that exude these vibes, but this one is super strong. Exactly what I was going for.
This outfit is perfect for a date night in the fall or winter, a fashion event, or a nice night out for dinner.
Ways to switch up these pieces:
- Wear the military velvet blazer with jeans and flats
- Wear the pants with a long-sleeve t-shirt and boots
- Wear the blazer and pants with a t-shirt under and flats
- Wear the blazer with jeans and the heels
This is one of those versatile-type outfits you buy to wear together, knowing you can alter it 10 different ways. I’ve given you 4 of those ways above. There are other ones I know you could come up with.
The beautiful thing about velvet, in my opinion, is even if you wear it head-to-toe, it’s still a soft enough fabric that it’s not overwhelming. At least, not in black. I guess if this outfit were bright pink, we might need to talk. LOL
I hope you get some great outfit ideas from this post, and enjoy shopping below!
PS – I forgot to tell you about my skills. This military blazer (that I could no longer find online) didn’t come with a front-button closure, and I didn’t have time to have my tailor do it before this photo session. So…..I did it myself with a needle & thread. I created and cut my own button hole, sewed it by hand, and sewed on the button. Not bad!
