The Wind In My Curls

I have to admit – every now and then, you just feel like letting your hair down. Seriously. I think this is the FIRST time I’ve ever posted pictures with my hair urrry-where! And it’s liberating. For so many years, having curly hair I had to “straighten” felt cumbersome – it felt like I was always stifling who I was.

In the past 2 years though, as I write more and develop more in-depth work around self-expression for other women – and essentially, develop things to help us ALL be more comfortable in our own skin, I have felt that same liberation. My own freedom is what fuels my work. So I lead by example.

I no longer see my curls as a “nuisance”. They are my signature. I LOVEEE them. On the days I don’t feel like doing shit with my hair, I throw some leave-in and Kerastase oil in it and go. On this particular day though, the wind decided it wanted to be part of the shoot, so I said “hell – let it go!”

I paired this new cute top I found with my favorite pair of jeans and threw on my favorite white heels, since I won’t be able to wear them much longer. I can’t tell you how gorgeous the weather was this evening when we shot too. Beautiful weather, beautiful photographer, beautiful location, makes for beautiful photos.

Hope you enjoy shopping below – I’m sharing outfit deets, makeup deets, and even hair deets this time for those of you women who have curly hair – I’ve discovered some GREAT products for caring for your curly tresses – the answer is NOT in a bajillion products. It’s in the RIGHT ones.
