Alright soooo….confession. I tend to get sidetracked when I go to Target. Like VERY sidetracked. I cannot be in there too long!
Hence, on a recent trip to Targ-ayyy, I was just walking my happy self to get what I needed and then THIS dress caught my eye.
It was LONG, which I love because I’m tall, it was one of my favorite colors to wear (blue), and it was sleeveless, which meant I could rock it around the house lounging OR wear it out with a blazer or jacket.
The maxi dress is a spring & summer staple, and it doesn’t take much to “wear” them. They look good on every body type.
I paired this dress from Target with a white cotton jacket from Cato. Interestingly, because of my body type, their jackets fit me WELL. I love the way they fit.
Location: We shot this in Richardson at the Renaissance Hotel. A GORGEOUS area if I do say so myself. It turned cloudy on us and even rained a bit, but my photographer rocks, and we got some good shots anyway.
You might also notice me rocking shorter strands – I just cut off 5 inches from my hair recently, and I’m loving it a TON!
It’s always interesting to me when you change something about yourself how differently people respond. People grow comfortable with you and how you express yourself and show up in the world, even if it’s as simple as the length of your hair.
It reveals a great deal when you decide to mix things up! Nevertheless, you know what I’m going to urge you to do – show up authentically and rock your expression in all forms – every time. You’re not here to make others “comfortable” with who you are. You’re not responsible for their comfort.
[gdlr_quote align=”center” ]You’re here to fulfill your own creative expression and contribution exactly how you’re called and designed to do it – in the way you do best![/gdlr_quote]
