[Podcast Ep. 7]: Why The Chemistry You Feel With That Person Matters. A LOT.

Home / The Modern Woman Podcast / [Podcast Ep. 7]: Why The Chemistry You Feel With That Person Matters. A LOT.

Chemistry and courage.

Not two words you may have thought go together at all whatsoever.

But they do.

In this podcast episode, I want to share what they have in common and why it matters to us.

Before you listen though, I have to give proper accolades to Shelly Bullard, one of my favorite teachers right now (and one of VERY few allowed to come directly to my actual inbox and not a folder in my inbox). Like, when I see an email from her, it gets read right then.

She’s my favorite not only for the actual depth of content she teaches, but how she writes. I just totally dig her style.

About 2 weeks ago, she sent out her weekly note, and she was touching on chemistry. I haven’t been able to let the concepts go, and I knew it was the perfect podcast episode.

However, I wanted to tie it in to what we do here at Modernity, and I was looking for an integration & relevance to our own courage as women in a modern, often “go with it” type of mentality. I began to think about it, and it was a no-brainer integration.

I think the most important thing to start with is that chemistry has purpose. And whether it’s a romantic partnership or a friendship or something else, it is there to show you something.

Sometimes, chemistry can be defined many different ways too, so I want to define it for this particular podcast episode as I see it. You may disagree, and you’re entitled to that. To me, chemistry is an undeniable connection with something or someone you can’t shake. It’s a spiritual and strong resonance with another human being and their way. Also, I define it as unexplainable. Not able to be articulated with words and maybe even frustrating for the simple fact that it won’t go away (maybe if you want it to).

That said, some see it as a negative thing. I don’t believe it is. But it’s all about perspective.

For the purpose of this episode, I want to look specifically at the role of chemistry. Specifically, to focus on how its primary role I believe people miss is for personal growth & exploration.

Often, people shy away from it because it’s bringing up a bunch of their own shit.

Chemistry challenges courage & provokes the ego to make a decision (i.e. jealousy, selfishness, fear, doubt, contempt), etc.

Sometimes, that decision will take people years. Courage and comfort tend to not go together, so we have to choose.

I urge you to not ignore chemistry whether it’s with a person or an idea. Because it’s there to show you something about your self – your higher self. If you’re purposely ignoring it or running from it, you could also be running from a life lesson showing up for you in this moment in time.

In order to make the choice to learn it, courage is what you’ll need.

Do you have any thoughts on courage and chemistry? I’d love to know. Leave a comment and share it with me.

As always, thank you for being a loyal listener.

Tamisha
