Fresh Workout Gear for Spring + Spring Workout Tips!
Spring & Summer are on their way, and I can’t wait to be full on back to my workout routine after having to take it slow the past several weeks with an ankle injury.
I was out of exercise completely for about 3 weeks because my ankle has still been so sore and swollen. However, I got back to it recently, and am doing what I can.
Y’all know I don’t recommend something that isn’t super super comfortable, and these deliver. You will love wearing them in the gym too, because they’re mid-rise and don’t fall off your waist easily. I can run on the incline trainer, row, & lift weights in these leggings very comfortably. :-) I’ve also worn them traveling, and they are great for that too.
I paired them with a Nike top I’m loving. It’s got these cute little floral details on it, some of them blue that match the pants. I couldn’t resist! Nike has some super cute comfortable tops at Academy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and even department stores like Dillard’s, Macy’s or Nordstrom, so check them out there too.
Last, but not least, are my incredibly comfy running shoes by Brooks - my newest pair I’m wearing & loving a lot. I like having multiple pairs of running shoes, because each pair offers different type of support. If I’m feeling like I need a lot more cushion for a run on any given day, I’m choosing these.
And Now for Some Spring Workout Tips
Don’t be afraid to be daring with prints for working out. Playing with colors & prints will help motivate you to get dressed & go get it in!
Try different brands of activewear to find what your preferences are - i.e. mid-rise leggings or high-rise? Long leggings or crop leggings? Running leggings or yoga ones? Try brands like Champion, Good American, Athleta, Niyamo Sol, or Carbon 8 to see what fabrics and fits you like. (Unfortunately, you will have to invest to discover your preferences, but maybe my posts will help you decide!)
Purchase several of your favorite fits & fabrics in bulk, once you find the fit(s) you love, so you’ll be motivated to workout more often.
If you’re a runner or walker, switch back & forth between running outside or on an incline trainer or treadmill. Your body needs to the oxygen, vitamins, and fresh air provided by being outside, but weather won’t always allow it. The alternating of environment will break up an otherwise boring workout routine, and it’s not always possible to be outside anyway.
Invest in a lightweight jacket for chillier runs or walks outside that could happen in the Spring transition weather.
I hope these are helpful!
